I operate a ten meter beacon on 28.210 MHz. The call sign is KC4DPC/B and is
now running 5 watts into a dipole 10 ft. off the ground inside. We have just
changed transmitters, so we are looking for all the reports we can get on our
new set up. Reports can be sent to me via FIDO Stanley Outlaw 1:3628/7,
Compuserve Stanley Outlaw 72634,276 or Internet Stanley Outlaw
stanley.outlaw@capefear.com
Thx for the help.

To: info-hams@ucsd.edu
I just bought a transceiver made by a company called "rf". It looks a little
old, but it works. It is a Series 1550. 50 watts, main transmitter goes in
trunk of car, 5 channels. I would like any information I can get on this, such
as frequencies, how to modify it to run on regular amateur bands(if it
doesn't already), etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You'll get a lot of different answers on this one. What I found when I
was doing my research is that the JPS unit has the edge on QRN while the
Timewave unit wins hands down in most other respects, i.e. filtering,
heterodyne zapping, and fidelity of the processed signal.
I love my DSP 59....
